Martial arts training provides benefits beyond merely teaching a child or adult how to defend themselves.
Practicing Martial Arts improves physical fitness, self-confidence, self discipline, and focus, as well as
teaching when and when not to fight. A Person who studies the Martial Arts , and truly understands it’s
teachings is never easily drawn into a fight.

Character Development
The Ultimate aim in Martial Arts lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its
participants. This character building is probably the least obvious aspect of the training to the casual
observer, but in reality it is the very core or essence. In every class at the Dojo, we discuss elements of
personal character like: Generosity, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, Self Control, Harmony, Loyalty and
Courage.

Inner Achievement
The belt system used in martial arts teaches students the value of setting and achieving goals. Our
system which bestows a different belt color as the student progress in their training, provides the
opportunity for inner achievement and a sense of personal victory.

Everybody Participates
Martial arts training allows everyone the opportunity to participate. Unlike a team sport, our martial arts
training concentrates on each person's personal progress. A common bond is formed between students
making everyone feel that they belong to a special group of people that is unique.

Self Confidence
What may be the most important benefit of martial arts training is the increased self-confidence one gains
while training. How you see yourself directly affects how you carry yourself, and that influences how others
see you. A person with a great deal of self confidence is more likely to speak up and make their opinion
known, more likely to stand up for themselves, and less likely to let an opportunity pass them by. A high
self confidence is also an effective form of self defense, as a person who carries themselves with pride is
less likely to be chosen as a victim than one who is timidly creeping along, hoping that no one notices
them.

Better grades for kids at school
It’s no secret that martial arts training BUILDS STRONGER BODIES, develops motor skills and teaches
SELF DEFENSE. But, did you know students who study martial arts also tend to DO BETTER IN
SCHOOL? Students enrolled in structured martial arts classes, where they learn goal setting and how to
focus, develop SELF CONFIDENCE and increase their SELF ESTEEM get BETTER GRADES and
perform better in school sponsored activities. The martial arts teach more than just punching and kicking.
WE TEACH LIFE SKILLS! Goal setting,  COURTESY, RESPECT, PERSEVERANCE and an “I CAN”
